What is VoIP?
VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) allows you to make telephone calls using a computer over the Internet. VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the Internet, and then converts that signal back to voice at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number.
How do I place a VoIP call?
With your phone connected to the Internet via an adapter, you simply pick up your phone, hear a dial tone, and dial the number as you normally would. The call goes over the Internet to your party’s local telephone company for completion of the call.
How do Telphin’s services actually work?
Telphin Broadband Telephone Service is a revolutionary new way of making and receiving phone calls through a high-speed Internet connection using a traditional touch-tone phone. Our VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) technology allows you to call all over the world at any time for less money, while enjoying the same quality as you would with traditional phone services and getting more features. With Telphin you can call anyone who has a telephone – including local, long distance, mobile, and international numbers.
Telphin’s network breaks your call down into a data stream for transmission over the Internet. The connection is crystal-clear, and you and the person you’re calling notice no difference from your usual calling experience. The only difference you’ll notice will be in your much smaller monthly phone bill!
Getting Connected With Telphin
What kind of equipment do I need?
A broadband Internet connection is required for our regular calling plans – cable modem, DSL, T1, or any high-speed, always-on connection. Beyond that, the only thing you need is an adapter (we do not supply adapers). To use our Call Forwarding Plan, simply sign up and specify which number(s) to forward your calls to – no equipment necessary.
Can a cell phone be used to connect?
You can use your cell phone as a destination for the Call Forwarding Plan. In fact many of our customers stay connected all over the world by having their Telphin numbers forwarded to different cell phone numbers. brFor regular plans you cannot connect a mobile phone directly to either DSL or a cable modem and therefore cannot use a mobile for VoIP. Telphin offers considerable advantages over mobile phones, though, such as never having to worry about calling only after a certain hour, exceeding monthly limits on minutes, or paying expensive per-minute charges for international calls. With all Telphin plans, there is only one fixed monthly fee, and call time to all your designated countries is unlimited.

Is there a difference in price or procedure between local and long-distance calling?
No. All calls to areas designated by your Telphin plan are covered by the flat rate of your low monthly bill
Do I pay for incoming calls?
On regular plans all incoming calls are free for Telphin customers, no matter where or when they originate. That’s a huge savings over mobile phones, which often charge you for minutes even when you don’t initiate a call. Forwarded calls are charged at a low per-minute price that’s the same as the price of placing a call to that area.
What if I’m always calling the same area? Can I choose my own area code?
You and the people who call you can save even more! Telphin’s allow you to select country/area code(s) for your number(s) that are different from the one in which you live. Say you call Moscow all the time. Choose Moscow as your area code, and people calling you from there are charged only as if they were making a local call.

What methods of payment does Telphin use?
Telphin only accepts credit card payments and Pay Pal.
Do you mail monthly statements?
All Telphin statements are electronic. You will receive an email when your bill is due each month. You can see your bill at any time by logging in to your account.

Can I see my active services and my call records online?
Yes, you can always access records of your calls and your account’s active features through the My Account pages. You can always see your call history for any period you like by selecting a range of dates.
Can I change my active services online?
Yes, you can make the change at any time by logging in to your account and going to your Profile page.
How do I cancel the service?
To cancel service, call the Telphin support team at (800) 813-9144 to receive a cancellation number. You would then need to send an email to with a written request to cancel your service, including the cancellation number in your message.
